Installation and configuration of Unwiredtec's Enterflex takes several hours, and generally requires either a standalone server or a cluster of servers, which limits the appeal of this transcoding system. A number of companies don't want to add Java software into their infrastructure and would rather have someone (in this case, Unwiredtec's staff) take care of maintaining it as well as upgrading Enterflex.
Hosted Enterflex system allows companies to get started instantly, without spending time on setting up additional software and infrastructure. Enterflex servers reside in a reliable data center with dual 2-GBit/s uplinks. Newest versions of Enterflex are installed on the server immediately after release.
You will still need some messaging provider to deliver the content (WAP Push link or GCD descriptor).
Your Account
Applying for an Account
We need the following information from you for the paperwork before you can get started. Please send us the following information by email:
The legal name of your company and the state or country of incorporation;
Your company's business address, phone and fax;
The name and the title of the person with authority for signing binding Agreements;
The name, email address and phone # of all engineers, who will integrate Enterflex with your systems;
The type of content you're distributing and the expected number of content downloads per month.
Let's say you've got a ringtone called My Fair Lady and two versions of it: one in SP-MIDI format and another one in plain WAVE format.
This means that you've got two files called My Fair Lady.mid and My Fair Lady.wav. Directory type of storage requires you to create a folder (for instance: My_Fair_Lady) and put both these files into it.
That's how your file structure will look like:
My_Fair_Lady
My Fair Lady.mid
My Fair Lady.wav
Do it for every file in your collection. You can put one folder into another. Example:
Rock
Queen
The_Show_Must_Go_On
The Show Must Go On.mid
The Show Must Go On.wav
NB The names of the folders must not contain dots. File names and folder names can contain spaces.
After you've done everything, please compress the file with ZIP or GZIP archiver and put it on your web server and send us the download link. Alternatively, if the size of the file doesn't exceed 2 MB, you can send it directly to us.
Terms and Conditions
Use of the service indicates that you've read and understood the following terms and conditions:
The service is provided to you by New York, NY-based Unwiredtec Corporation (later: Unwiredtec).
Unwiredtec hosts your content (wallpapers, ringtones, applications, video clips) on its servers and converts it into formats compatible with 2000+ mobile phones.
As a hoster, Unwiredtec doesn't bear any responsibility for your copyright infringement. If somebody claims to be a legitimate copyright owner of the content you're providing, Unwiredtec will notify you and make the specific content unavailable until the dispute is resolved and Unwiredtec is properly notified of the resolution.
If the system produces an incompatible content, Unwiredtec will gladly reimburse you the cost of transcoding of that particular item. No other reimbursement (for direct or indirect damages) is offered.
We tried to make this list short and comprehensive.
Using Hosted Enterflex
Your workflow will be like this:
identify the target phone vendor and model (or you can have Enterflex determine it automatically from the phone's User-Agent field);
identify the content you plan to transcode;
choose the delivery type (WAP Push or GCD)
That's about it. All that's remaining is the delivery of the resulting download link.
